Mandy has been making this honey beer bread for years, and it is one of those simple loaves that disappears at parties or beside a bowl of homemade soup. Natural Sun River Honey keeps the base recipe easy, and cheddar or Chipotle Honey can take it in a savoury direction.
Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp fine salt
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/4 cup Sun River Honey Natural, warmed slightly so it pours easily
- 1 can of beer
- 1/4 cup melted butter
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 F.
- Mix the flour, salt, and baking powder in a large bowl.
- Slowly pour in the beer and honey, then stir thoroughly.
- Pour half of the melted butter into a 9x5 bread pan and brush it around to coat the pan.
- Add the batter to the pan and flatten it out.
- Brush the remaining butter on top of the batter.
- Bake for 40 to 50 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes before slicing.
